Time-waster applicants turfed out by new PropTech tool

A new PropTech tool for agents claims to help weed out time-wasters and reduce the viewing-to-offer ratio.

Rental Passport, produced by LegalforLandlords, gives an appraisal of prospective tenants; this allows agents to see tenants’ financial position, references, and the likely timescale they are working to in relation to a move.

The tool – which is free for tenants to use –  means renters can file details of their affordability, credit history, employment details and previous references in advance.

The product has been endorsed by Homes Under The Hammer TV presenter Lucy Alexander

She says: “While it offers obvious benefits for busy agents, it’s also a big draw for house hunters who are also pressed for time and want to find the right home as quickly as possible. It helps good tenants with a good record get ahead in a competitive market.”

Agents can either send a unique QR code to a prospective tenant or embed a link to the tool in a property listing.
