“Rigorous selection process” for new ARLA regional representatives

It’s taken what Propertymark calls “a rigorous selection process” to find the latest four regional representatives for the Association of Residential Letting Agents.

The organisation received a record number of applications for the roles.

The successful candidates are Leanne Hargreaves, Sophie Lang, Sally Hatcher, and James Duffy.

Hargreaves, who has been appointed regional representative for Cheshire, Manchester and Merseyside, has over 10 years of property management experience and has been a member of ARLA since 2013.

Lang, representative for Cornwall, has 15 years’ experience in lettings and for the last 10 years of that has been a director of a letting agency.

Hatcher, who has been appointed representative for Kent, has been letting and managing properties for over 25 years in Canterbury and set up her own family-run letting agency eight years ago.

And Duffy, representative for Sussex, has over 19 years of experience, having worked with a range of knowledgeable companies including the award-winning Callaways Ltd.

New Propertymark chief executive Tim Balcon describes the four as “passionate about tackling the issues facing the lettings sector” and adds: “We always appreciate the time that our regional representatives give to the industry and I have no doubt they will share their expertise with members through their new roles.”

He continues: “It’s been a challenging period for the property market and as we now enter a second lockdown period, having a strong network of regional volunteers, who are practising members, in place to work closely with us is fundamental in helping us understand what members need and the issues they are facing.”
