The week begins with news of another agency acquiring an independent.
This time it’s Alexander & Co, a Bedfordshire firm, which has made its second acquisition of recent weeks, by snapping up Northamptonshire firm Macintyers – and extending its footprint in to the bargain.
Last month Alexander & Co bought Apple Homes in Buckingham, which has already rebranded.
Alexander & Co chief executive George Thomas says of his firm’s recent initiatives: “It’s been a tough 12 months for many businesses as they’ve faced the uncertainties that the pandemic has presented, which is why we are particularly proud of the growth that Alexander & Co has achieved during this difficult time.
“As a group we now have 120 staff managing over 2,500 properties across the region. We have a busy and exciting year ahead of us and relish the opportunities that this expansion brings.”
The addition of these two new businesses to the Alexander & Co brand means there are now 11 offices in the group when combined with the Cheltenham-based Peter Ball & Co brand the company welcomed to the fold in 2020.
