How ResidentialPeople.com is changing property listing landscape

International free-to-list property portal Residential People were established in 2014 by Christopher May and Nahim Rahman with over one million listings added since launch (March 2019). The concept for Residential People initially began when they became frustrated with effectively being priced out of the market by the extortionate fees charged to list their agency’s properties.

Residential People and it’s commercial property platform Commercial People, have successfully managed to gain a foothold in the hugely competitive UK property sector. Both platforms support a variety of data feeds including API, BLM and XML – and have also struck up partnerships with various Customer relationship management (CRM) firms including the likes of Acquaint CRM, Alcium Software, 10ninety, Dezrez, Reapit, SME Professional, VaultEA, Agenthub and PropData, amongst several others – making it easier for agents to list their properties on the site(s).

Boasting a vast array of listings from over 8,000 agencies across the UK, UAE, Bangladesh, India, Nigeria, Pakistan and South Africa, Commercial & Residential People are well on their way to becoming a pre-eminent name amongst disruptor portals.

How They’re Different From Other Property Listing Portals?

Residential People have a unique selling point of being free-to-list, enabling agents to upload an unlimited amount of properties, completely free of charge, forever.

While there are other portals who market themselves as ‘free to list‘, Residential People is the only one that values its agents, service providers and business brokers as a partner rather than merely listing clients; as such, Residential People have a clear and concise mandate that listing as an agent will remain free.

Along with the optional marketing suite, our customers can also gain exclusive marketing rights through localised banner advertising within their chosen area, helping them to stand out, and stay ahead of their competitors.

Investing heavily in the portal to further develop our offering so that we can deliver more to agents an innovative marketing platform.  We will be helping agents become more informed about the individuals who have an interest in moving within an area and delivering key insights such, as renewal dates for mortgages, potential moving timeframe and much, much more. All gathered information will be passed directly onto the agent, giving them the opportunity to showcase their brand in front of this audience.

What’s In The Future For The Portal?

To further enhance the search for finding a home, we’ll be introducing a bespoke service that will allow the home seeker to find their perfect home without having to spend endless hours searching. Enquiries of this nature will be passed directly onto the agent to help them monetise additional revenue streams. We are also incorporating Fintech into our platform to help consumers be aware of the true costs of moving.  We’ll be improving the user journey by surfacing key information at the right times, this will include giving them tailored mortgage rates and insurance products for their needs.
