The cost of buying a beach hut on the south cost is typically £36,388 based on the stock listed for sale, Howsy analysis shows.

Beach huts are most expensive in Dorset, with a typical asking price of £300,000, while they are cheapest in West Sussex, at £10,500.

With people holidaying close to home due to the pandemic, there’s been heightened demand for seaside locations on the south coast.

Indeed, it’s now 2.6% more expensive than last year to rent a beach hut.

The most expensive beach hut rental hotspot is Mudeford in Dorset, while the least is Southwold in Suffolk (£832) and Bournemouth (£752).
