The North West towns of Blackpool and Burnley are home to the most empty homes in the UK, surprisingly followed by the City of London.
Coulters Property research shows that 5.47% of dwellings are vacant in Blackpool, followed by 5.09% in Burnley and 4.78% in the City of London.
Other areas with a high proportion of empty homes include Barrow-in-Furness (4.70%), Hartlepool (4.70%), Liverpool (4.67%) and Southwark (4.63%).
At the other end of the spectrum the town of Corby in Northamptonshire has the lowest percentage of vacant dwellings, at 0.45%.
There are over 640,000 vacant properties in England, which accounts for 2.65% of all houses.
